October's Calendars

I just realized that I still haven't shown you all the months of my calendar....boy oh boy, it's taking me long enough! I had a fundraiser event yesterday. I was one of the vendors. It was nice to see some familiar faces and to meet some new people as well. And some people who may be interested in coming to some classes, so that is even better! Here is the October picture for Boris' calendar. This picture was taken, I think during his first camping trip. Courtney's October picture is one of her and Jay at Halloween. My Mum's October picture is one of her and her sister and brother with my Granny taken at Granny's 90th birthday.

Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad!

30 years....wow!!! In some ways it seems that they have been married forever and in other ways it seems as though it was just yesterday! It was a huge change for my sister and myself when they got married, and there were some bumps and hurdles along the way, but the two of them getting married, was one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. My Dad makes my Mum so happy and he is by far the best man I have ever known. I wish you both all the best for today and for at least another 30 years. I love you, Chow for now, Jacqui

Gettin' back in the saddle....

Wow...I can't believe how long it has been since I posted last. I haven't done any stamping in quite some time, but did a bit this weekend, which I should be able to post in the next few days.
Today, I took my son to London to see the movie Avatar. We left home at 11:30 and headed out for the 12:30 show in London.....little did I know that the movie was still going to be such a sell out.....so the 12:30 show was sold out and the next one did not start until 3:10. So we bought tickets for the next show and did some running around London and aimed to be back at the theatre by 2:00, since the girl in the ticket booth told us to be there at least an hour before it started because that was what time people started to line up......are we crazy!!!!!
Anyhow, that is what we did - and it paid off - we got seats exactly where we wanted them....last row in the back...dead centre. I was beside a very pleasant girl who brought her mom to see the show and Joel was beside an elderly couple. The movie was amazing. The special effects were phenomenal, and the 3-D effect was very cool as well.
Here are Septembers issues of my calendars.
I like this picture of Boris. It's a nice side view when he was a puppy.

This picture of Diana and myself is on Courtney's calendar for September. It was taken when Diana was home a few years ago. She came home when our Granny was quite ill, and luckily she rallied around and is doing well.

The picture on Mum's calendar for September shows all of us together!

August calendars

Just a quick post to show the August installments of my calendars.
We had a busy weekend. My son Joel turned 14 on Friday, so the weekend was spent with 5 teenage boys running through the house and hanging out. At one point I thought there was a concert downstairs...but it was just some Guitar Pro...but it sure was as loud as a concert!
This picture of Boris shows him with his funky life jacket on!

Mom's August picture is one of Jade and Joel when we went camping at Invehuron Provincial Park. I love that park, and with any luck, we'll be able to go there this summer.

Courtney's August picture is the same as Mom's July picture. A cute picture of Jay and Courtney.

Wow...it's only Wednesday and I am tired from work already! That's the worst part of having some holidays, it takes a while to get back into the swing of things. The kids seem to have settled back in. Project work on the go as well as basket ball tryouts. Indoor soccer starts again on Sunday and my baby turns 14 on Friday.
I've been lucky so far with my commute to work. There is lots of snow in London and in the surrounding areas, but luckily so far my drive has been okay. It's been bitterly cold though. I've got my extra mitts and ear muffs in the car just in case!
Well lets think of warm weather.
Here are the July installments of my calendars!
This is another awesome picture of Boris. I love the way he is sitting so proud on the diving board of the pool. Like he is watching over the yard while Curtis has a nap!

Courtney's July is the same as my Mum's March, so you have already seen this layout.

Mum's July is a nice picture of Courtney and her boyfriend Jay. Don't they make a cute couple?

I'm moving right along in my book....it's very good.

Winter in Canada.....

Well..old man winter decided to come to visit so that meant Kim could not, so I didn't get my stamping with friends yesterday like I wanted to. We don't have that much snow, but I guess where Kim lives they have got a bunch and it does not seem to want to stop. I did finish my book my Dean Koontz though. I'm not sure I will read many more of his though. They are a little too "odd" for me. I like a book that makes you think, but makes you think about stuff that makes sense. This is the second Dean Koontz book I have read and I had to finish reading it to see what happened, but then I wonder why I did!
So I am moving on to one that Jade got for Christmas. It is called Change of Heart and it is by Jodi Picoult. She also wrote My Sister's Keeper, which I really liked and I have read another one by her as well, I think it was called Songs of the Humpback Whale. It was good too. I like her writing, so hopefully will enjoy this one too.
Here are the June installments of my calendars!
June brings a very tired puppy!!! This picture was taken at the campground after a long hike! If I am not mistaken it was Boris' first camping trip too!

June for Mum and Courtney have the same picture. This picture was taken by my BFF Vicki at Port Franks a few summers ago. Port Franks is my favourite beach. I love going there because you can drive on the beach so you can take all the stuff you want and you don't have to haul it all from the parking lot to where you are sitting. There are sand bars and the water is warm and it is one of my favourite places on the planet!

Stamping with friends

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my dear friend Kim who is coming over to stamp with me today. We tried to get all our girls together for a Christmas get together and everyone had various things happening during the holidays so we did not get a chance to get together. One girl was cruising (oh yes I am very jealous!) and one girl was skiing (not so jealous on that....I don't really do the winter sports!!!), but it made it impossible to get together before Christmas. Hopefully they will all be able to make it at some point today. I have a bunch of things I have to get stamped, but I have been a Procrastinator (see the capital P). I think there is a procrastination gene - and I think I might just have two of them!

I watched The Time Travellers Wife last night. It was a nice movie. I think I might read the book. My sister is reading it right now. She is gonna watch the movie when she is done the book and let me know if I should read the book, or if I am okay with just watching the movie!!!!! I have a bunch of books to read! I want to re-read the Twilight Saga, and my Mum and Dad gave me a new James Patterson book for Christmas, Joel got me a Julie Garwood book for my birthday, and Joel got the Witch and Wizard book by James Patterson for Christmas so I want to read that one too! I have to get this Dean Koontz book done that I am reading. It is okay..but I am not much for the science fiction weird stuff. I enjoy reading his books, but it seems to take me forever to get through one. I'll be glad when I am done this one! Oooooo and Jade got a Jodi Picoult book from our very best German exchange student Ines, so I want to read that one too!
I am listening to CMT right now. I like this time of year because they compile all the best videos of the year, and they just played The Roadhammers!!!!
Here are the May installments of my calendars.
I love this picture of Boris. I like the way the sun is shining on the one side of his face. I got a Pet Stack from Die Cuts with a View about a year and a bit ago, and it was great paper to use for this calendar!

Courtney's picture for May is an AWESOME picture of my Mum and Dad. I love this picture of them. They look like they are having a great time where they are. I think it's at a birthday party for one of their friends if I remember correctly, but I just love it.

Mum's picture for May is the same as Courtney's picture for March! So it's that little 2-hour old lamb!

Have a great "day-before-everything-goes-back-to-normal" day!

I can't possibly wait until June....

Jade and I went to the theatre to see New Moon yesterday. I have been wanting to see it since it came out on the 20th of November, but figured I would wait until all the screaming 13 year olds had seen it!!! That way the theatre would be quieter! I am extremely anal when it comes to watching movies. I have to watch all the previews at the beginning of the movie....and all the credits...and leaving in the middle of the movie to get snacks or go pee...well that is just unheard of! The movie was AWESOME. It was like the book again, which is great - I have said it before, I hate when they change the story for the movie. If Stephanie Meyer is the reason for this with Twilight - WAY TO GO STEPHANIE - STICK TO YOUR GUNS - DON'T LET THEM CHANGE A THING.

THERE IS NO WAY I AM GOING TO BE ABLE TO WAIT UNTIL JUNE TO SEE ECLIPSE!
I am going to re-read all the books to make sure I am up-to-date with all the stuff. It's easy to forget things that happen in a book when you have read....oh probably 12 or so since you read that one.
The theatre was AWFUL. It was freezing. As soon as you walked through the doors of the theatre you could feel the cold air. I thought maybe after the movie started it would get better...but nope....it was FREEZING. And..based on my statement above, there was no way I was going to go out and complain cause then I might miss something. Thankfully, I wore warmish clothes to go out...but they were not warm enough. As soon as I got home I put the kettle on and made a hot chocolate and emailed the contact person on the theatre website to complain. It was ridiculous.

Anyhow, here are my April installments of my calendars.
This is another picture of Boris when he was tiny. I just think he is the cutest dog around!

Courtney's April picture is the same as my Mum's February picture, but the layout is a little different.

My Mum's April picture is different than Courtney's but the layout is the same! This picture of the kids is taken on the way up to Inverhuron (this amazing provincial park up near Kincardine). We went through this little town on the way up there and they had these lion fountains. I remember when we used to travel with Granny and Poppa there would be all these kinds of things on the side of the road, so I had to stop and get the kids pictures taken with one.

Hope you are enjoying my calendar posts.

Happy New Year!

Wow 2010....who would have thought that when we were all sitting on pins and needles for Y2K 10 years ago...that the world would still be here! Wasn't everything supposed to blow up when that ticker hit midnight on 2000!! It's hard to believe it was 10 years ago.
I spent my New Year's Eve cleaning/purging our basement. My soon to be 14 year old son has his bed room down there and well......needless to say...some things disappear and some things grow down there so it was time! We were in the middle of cleaning...watching the movie Twister.....and the hydro went out. It was off for 2.5 hours. So I came upstairs, curled up in Poppa's chair with my cat Shadow, an afghan and had a little nap! I'm glad I had Shadow and the afghan cause after 2.5 hours of the furnace not kicking on...it was getting a little chilly in the house.

Here are the March installments of my calendars.
I love this picture of Boris. It is nice and close and he looks so cute!

This is the picture that is on Courtney's calendar. It is a picture of a baby lamb that is approximately 2 hours old! They are so cute. This particular one was born in October. Before we lived in our current house, I didn't have a house large enough to have a bunch of people come and stay over for Jactopia so we had it at my Granny's house in Parkhill. Her house is only 5 minutes away from my Mum and Dad's farm, so we zipped out there to see the newborn baby lambs!!!! It was fun cause my BFF Vicki had never seen a baby lamb before and one that was as new as 2 hours old was even better!

This is the picture that is on my Mum and Dad's calendar. This is a picture of me and my two kids Jade and Joel. It was taken a few years ago. It was taken at the Grand Bend Zoo, which I am sad to say is closed. I was very sad when they closed it as this was a yearly summer trip the kids and I took. We piled our Little Tikes wagon full of lettuce and all kinds of other food specific for each type of animal and walked through and fed the animals and took lots of pictures. This particular year, my BFF Vicki and her son Johnathon were with us, which is why we were able to get a picture of me and the kids!!!! I am usually behind the camera so this does not happen very often!

Happy New Year. All the best to you and yours for 2010.
