Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge 59 - Sketch Challenge

This week over at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long challenge blog, our challenge was to create a card using this sketch. I haven't inked up my House Mouse stamp for quite some time, so I thought I would use them for this card. When I was unpacking I came across some designer paper for Christmas that I kind of forgot I had! I like making Christmas cards that are not your standard Christmas colours! I like to think outside the box every now and then! So I used Taken with Teal and created this card! I used the Sakura glaze pens to colour the bows to make them shiny - it's hard to see in the picture, but they do shine! If you still have not gone over to the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge Blog and joined in one of our challenges...you really should! It's fun! Chow for now Jacqui

Beautiful Waterfall....

Now..if I was a great stamper...I'd have a waterfall card to go along with these great waterfall pictures Jade took while she was in Germany.....but alas.......a great stamper I am not......so you will just have to enjoy the pictures of the waterfall. I am finding it a pain in the arse not having the Internet at home.....but .......it is a luxury and until all my other bills are paid off, it's a luxury I am not going to have. I never realized how much I used it until it is not there. Oh well....onto the pictures. Jade took these waterfall pictures when she was in Germany. I'm sorry I don't know the exact location, but I thought they were beautiful so I thought I would share them with you. She took a large number of pictures....something like 1300....so I'll be able to show you a few for quite some time!! Hope your Wednesday is great.....I have to jar up my pickles tonight and whip up a card!!! Chow for now, Jacqui

Home safe and sound....

Well Jade got home safe and sound on Thursday night. We drove into Woodstock to pick her up and they were scheduled to be in Woodstock at 7:00 pm and she arrived at 7:08 pm so I thought that was pretty good. I brought my book with me to sit in the parking lot and wait for her.....and I think I got about 2 lines read and she was there. If I had of forgotten my book.....she would have been 3 hours late!!!!
It is great to have her home though. Now our new place feels like home with everyone there.
She is still getting over the jet lag thing - she was not feeling so hot last night - but I'm sure crashing in her own bed will make her feel better quickly!
We had a busy weekend....making pickles with Grandma, Grand Bend Flea Market, grocery shopping, swimming, mowing grass, fixing up flower beds, some more swimming and just hanging out.
Hope your summer is going great as well!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge 58 - Buttons and Bows

This week our challenge over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long was to create a card using Buttons and Bows. We also were provided a wonderful image from Sassy Cheryl's. (Please see the CSAYL Blog for more information on this great sponsor)
I think I am finally back on track for posting my creations!
I’m one of these people who have ribbons upon ribbons upon ribbons and very seldom use it on my cards. I also have buckets of buttons and I don’t use them on cards either.
So this was a great challenge to force me into using some of these otherwise neglected embellishments!
I used Handsome Hunter textured card stock for the base and the mat around the image.
I used some designer paper for the mat on the handsome hunter and I can’t remember where I got it from. The ribbon is Sleigh bells by SU

I put some liquid applique on the image for some texture as well as using some of the Sakura pens to add glaze to Rudolph's nose and the bell on his collar.
This was a fun challenge and I’m glad to be back..
Still don’t have Internet at home, but I have got myself into a routine to get it up on the blog and posted.
If you still haven't played along with us over at CSAYL....you really should!
It's loads of fun!

My Girl comes home today!!!

Today is the day Jade gets home from Germany! She has been gone on an exchange since the 30th of June. I was so excited for her to go, because this may very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for her, and now I am so excited for her to come home.It has been kind of strange here at the new place – we dropped her off on the bus to leave for Germany and then we headed to the new house. So she has not been here with us, so it’s been a little strange.I’m looking forward to having her home. I can’t wait to hear all the stories she has to tell me! (and with any luck......eat up some German chocolate!!!!!)

Here is a picture of Jade and Ines. This picture was taken in October when Ines was at our place for her visit. We hope that she will want to come and spend some more time with us in the future. She is a beautiful young woman and we hope to keep in touch with her for many years to come.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge 57 - Glitter and Sparkle

This card was supposed to be posted on the 16th of July, but as I stated before, I could not find my colouring tools.

This week at
Christmas Stampin All Year Long our wonderful sponsor is In Style Stamps. In Style Stamps are releasing their new Christmas digital images today and we're showing a few samples of the wonderful Christmas images. Be sure to stop by In Style Stamps and check them out! They are offering various styles of Christmas images from simple to scenic but all of them are beautiful and fun to color. This week's challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long is "Bling It Up". . .add glitter or something sparkly to your card. Come play along in our challenge and you have a chance to win 4 digital images from In Style Stamps. The challenge ends on July 22nd and the winner will be announced on Friday, July 23.

To add glitter and sparkle to my card I used some designer paper that was embossed and glittered. I believe it's My Minds Eye paper. It's got great texture, which the picture does not do justice.

I love this image, but to be honest, I was not happy with my colouring of it. I am hoping it was just due to the stress of finally finding all my creating tools and I will have my mojo back up and running for the challenge card for Friday!

Pop on over to the CSAYL challenge blog to see more information about this generous sponsor.

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge 56 - Anything Goes

This was supposed to be posted on July 9th on the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge blog, but we just moved and I couldn’t find any of my colouring tools. It's a wonder I have any hair left at all. I have been frantically trying to find all the items I need to create........feed the family you say? Nah...they can fend for themselves....I need to stamp!!!!!

I finally found them late last night so I whipped up this card. I’m so sorry it is late, but I thought better late than never. Especially since we were blessed to have a sponsor this month.
Head on over to the CSAYL challenge blog to see information about the sponsor.

Slowly.....

Well we are slowly getting settled in our new place. We have all our belongings at the new house, it's now just a matter of getting everything organized and finding a place for everything. Joe worked his butt off getting everything to the house. We did not hire movers, we did everything ourselves....which included moving the piano, the organ, the stove, the fridge, the freezer...you'd think I'd be buff by now! The Monday night before we moved it was my son's Grade 8 graduation. I can't believe next year I will have two kids in high school. The time is just getting away from me. He looked great and most of the kids looked great as well. I'll admit...a couple of them....I'm not sure what their parents were thinking when they let them walk out the door...but that's just my opinion. My parents came down to join in the celebration......unfortunately, the seats we picked were beside a very robust and vocal parent and my poor dad was sitting right beside her. I'm sure I'll have to do chores for a few days to pay him back for that one! Chow for now Jacqui
