Deep Freeze

We we have had a very cold spell here for the last few days. We got a dumping of snow and then we went into a deep freeze. This morning it is minus 24.
I got up this morning, got ready for work. Joe had gone out and warmed up the Escape for me so I would be toasty when I got in to leave for work.
I jump in, get all buckled in and get ready to go down the lane way.
There are couple of spots in our lane that drift pretty bad. They were drifted a bit yesterday but the snow was pretty fluffy so a good "run at it" and you were through. 
Well last night we had a wicked wind blowing all night which made the drifting a bit worse.
So as I put my Escape in drive and said to myself "you got this", my vehicle started moving forward right into the ROCK SOLID drift of snow that was created by the massive winds last night. And there it sits. It won't move anywhere. I can't even get any of that rocking action you get so someone can help push you out - I am just stuck in the snow drift.
Oh well I think - I can work from home today.
So I log on, send an email to my boss to let him know my dilemma.
But now, the furnace is not working like a furnace should so it is like 10 degrees in our house right now.
I am sitting in my office chair with a space heater beside me wrapped in Granny's electric blanket cranked on to HIGH.
Arizona is looking really good right about now.

Happy 39th Anniversary Mum and Dad!!!

Happy 39th Anniversary to my Mum and Dad. I remember the day they got married. It was pretty cool actually cause they got married at the house on the farm. We had a dinner and then we headed into the Community Centre in Parkhill and Roger Quick played for their wedding reception.
Seems like just yesterday.

I really do need to get some more pictures of the two of you. I think I have used this picture every time I've wished you Happy Anniversary!!

Just checkin' in

I just wanted to throw a quick post up here to let you all know that I haven't forgotten I wanted to post something every day, but I have been so sick.
I came home Monday from work and I laid down on the couch. I was freezing for the next 4 hours then I had the sweats for the next 4. I could not swallow my throat was so sore. All of my joints hurt. I had a headache. I had back pains and chest pains. I just felt like I had been hit by a truck. Even my teeth hurt. I spent Tuesday entirely in bed. Seriously I didn't get out of bed until 6:30 at NIGHT!
Wednesday it was half and half - half in bed half sitting up in my chair. Thursday I managed the day without a nap. Friday I worked a full 8 hour shift from home, and was exhausted at the end of the day. Saturday I thought I was on the mend but I still felt like crapola. And today - not a whole heck of a lot better. And with it being minus 13 outside right now. I'm staying put.
Worst part is all the laying around gets my back acting up so the last two days I have not been able to find a comfortable spot to sit or lay down.
I know there are people out there with worse problems than I. I just wanted to check in real quick and let you all know where I've been
