NMDHS Tractor Day was a success!!!!!

Tractor Day was a huge success again this year. There were many tractors driven to the school by various students. At some point during the day, they do the big convoy drive down the main street of Parkhill where many school children and residents of Parkhill align the streets to watch. It really is a great thing living in the country where there is a sense of community no matter where you go. They had some very old tractors, like this one here, and some new models like this big Ford. They had bale throwing competitions, as well as the classic "carry and egg on a spoon" race, three-legged races, water balloon toss and sticking with our country roots - bale tossing!! There was also a competition for "Biggest Male/Female Hick" Will McLachlan and Lauren Soverign won these prices. I'm not sure what all was in their prize pack, but it looked pretty good from here! There were also large blow up units which were a type of obstacle course to run. BX93 showed up to play some good ole country tunes. The weather held out and all in all I think it was a very successful day!

True Blood comes back...

True Blood comes back on Sunday! I can hardly wait. I like the way they have changed the "seasons" for television viewing. It seems to me it used to be there was never anything to watch in the summer. Now they seem to have 2 different seasons...so when some of your favourite shows are done for the summer, they have new ones starting that take you over the summer. True Blood is one of these!! Seriously....you get to see this guy each week!!!! Gonna tune in now aren't ya!!!

Happy Tractor Day!!!

Today is Tractor Day at NMDHS in Parkhill. This is a chance for our little school to embrace it's country roots and drive their tractors to school. The local radio stations usually cover the event and it's quite the site to see all the tractors arriving and leaving the school.
There are big tractors, small tractors, old tractors and new. We have John Deere's, Fords, and even some lawn tractors.
If you get a chance, take a drive by.
NMDHS might be the smallest high school in the Thames Valley School Board - but we have the best kids and are proud of our country roots.

Let's Play Ball...

This past weekend my Mom called and asked if I would go to a Blue Jays baseball game with her. I haven't been to a Jays game in ages.....like before Jade and Joel were born, so I said sure!!! Our bus left Ilderton at 830 AM and we arrived in Toronto around 1130 AM. We were very lucky and Courtney came to meet us at the game! Fun girl times!!! Mom and I were standing up on steps peering over the crowd so we could see Courtney when she got to the stadium. We were looking and looking and looking and all of a sudden there she was right in front of us!!! We didn't even see her! I was looking for her flaming red hair, but she tricked us and she had it up in a pony tail and had on a Blue Jays visor!!! The game was fun..even though the Jays lost 7 - 4 to the Boston Red Sox, but it was fun to hang out with mom and Courtney. It was Jr. Jays Saturday as well.....which means that there were kids EVERYWHERE. They had a bunch of events going on out outside the stadium before the game started. Jr. Jay was walking around and dancing with the kids. I couldn't resist..I had to get his picture with Mom!!
Thanks Mom for the great day!
