17 years..........................
As I was driving home from Stouffville last night, Mum and I were talking about Poppa and Granny. Then I did a mental calculation in my head and realized that tomorrow (which is now today) is the 17th of November, which means it's the anniversary of Poppa's passing. I can't believe it's been 17 years.
I think of him often. At least once a day, if not more.
I was blessed to have him in my life for as long as I did. He was always there when I needed him and to just listen to me share or complain about my day. I really wish my kids could have had more time with him. The grandparent bond is such an important one. I am the person I am today partly because of this man.
Love you Poppa,
Jacqui
Happy 30th Anniversary Diana and Jeff!!!
Wow - first off I can't believe the last time I posted was Courtney's wedding anniversary!!! And now, Diana and Jeff's has rolled around. I will try and be better at updating it. It really is nice to look back on it over time and see where I was, what I was doing and who I was with. Okay, enough about me.
Diana and Jeff are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary today.
They got married in a cute little church in Swan Creek Illinois. Courtney was their little flower girl - she was so cute - she hardly had any hair! Jeff's nephew Billy was the ring bearer. He was a cute little fella too. I remember I wore a purple dress, and couldn't get over how handsome all of Jeff's brothers were!
I am so happy that they found each other. They are totally made for each other. They feed off each other's "crazy"!!!! (you know you have a bit of crazy in you too Jeff!!!!!) They have a wonderful son, Eric - who has got the best parts of both of them. He is a really funny guy. When I was there visiting last year, he always made me laugh!
They have gone through good times and bad and their love and marriage has come out twice as strong on the other side. I just wish we lived closer together so I could see them more often. But, in today's world of email, skype, social media, blogs, twitter, you name it, it's much easier to stay in touch. I do hope to get out there to see them again in the next year or so. Arizona at this time of year, October-November'ish is beautiful.
So the traditional symbol of 30 years of marriage is PEARLS. So, since I haven't had the chance to do any deep sea diving and get any pearls from the bottom of the sea. I will leave you with this little "pearl" of wisdom on your anniversary day.
"KEEP DOING WHATEVER IT IS YOU ARE DOING, BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUSLY WORKING!"
Happy Anniversary and I love you both,
Chow for now
