Mowin' the grass
When we first moved to the farm, we were very excited to have lots of space, but also a little anxious about cutting the lawn. We had a push mower, but the amount of grass we have to mow with that push mower was a little daunting. Joe mowed it with the push mower one weekend and it took him 9 hours to cut the grass. So the hunt was on for either another couple of push mowers, so we could mow as a family....or a riding mower (better choice if you ask me!) We managed to get two more push mowers. They are great mowers, industrial type so they have big honkin' gas tanks on them so you are not refilling every other strip of grass you mow! You should have seen Joe, Jade and I one weekend following each other like a lawn mower train cutting the grass! It took much less time this way, but was still a very hot hot job. Well thanks to Jade and her friend Brian, we finally got a riding mower for the farm. Now we can get it done much faster. Joel got a crash course in mowing the grass from his dad on the weekend and then he took over mowing the grass! It's nice as well to have a little motorized something - cause we can use it for other jobs as well. I need a little trailer to attach to the back..and then watch me put my boys to work!!! Chow for now Jacqui

Holy moly, a lot of grass to cut! I know how it feels... when we moved to England, I wanted a big garden, and now three years on it feels like a huge task we have taken on... but we are still loving it! Enjoy your property! Hugs always! G
Look at all the green, I am so jealous...to look at it, I wouldn't want to cut it, I am assuming the humidity is horrible.
It has been so hot here. 111, blech, but we have ugly brown everywhere.
Love ya and see you next year,
Di
