Off to Mexico!!!
So...today was the day that Joel leaves for his mission trip to Mexico with Project Serve. I am so happy that he is able to make this trip. One thing that is great about this particular one, is 8 of the kids going are from his local youth group, so that will make the trip even more meaningful for them to be there experiencing all they do with friends. Another great thing is that Leah and Earl are going as well and they are their youth leaders. So I'm very thankful to have great people going along with him on his first plane ride and his first big trip away from home.
They had to be at the London Airport for 5 AM, so that meant a 3 AM wake up call and on the road for 4 AM. We made it there on time so all was good. London Airport is much easier than some of those other huge airports I've been too. They got all their luggage checked and then they just kind of mingled, getting the last hugs from Mum before they left.
Chris said a prayer for everyone before they began checking in so that was a good start to the trip.
I hope they have a wonderful time and hope they appreciate the opportunity they are having and soak in all the culture and knowledge they can.
I hope to get a picture similar to this one....when they get home...I'm thinking they are not going to look so bright-eyed and bushy tailed!
Chow for now,
Jacqui
