A Kind Word
I, like my sister, Diana, loved this stamp set the minute I saw it in the new catalogue. The little girls with their dresses and pinafores are so cute swinging on their swings with their little baskets of flowers and their little kittens! I wanted to get a card made and get it posted on my blog before she got hers posted but she beat me to it!
Oh well.....there's always another stamp set!!
I whipped up this card tonight. I started colouring the little girl last night, but got pooped out from being up at 4:00 AM for work I decided I would finish her tonight.
The base of the card is Bashful Blue, which I inked up using the direct to paper technique. I cut Bella Rose designer paper using the Top Note Die. The scraps that were left over from cutting the die, I used to make the lacy scalloped edge along the top of the card. I stamped the girl with StazOn and coloured her using the Aquapainters and the re-inkers. I then cut her out.
I used water colour paper and cut it using the Top Note Die again. I trimmed the die cut along the notched edge so the Bella Rose designer paper would mat the water colour piece.
I then sponge in some clouds and some green for grass.
I then water coloured in a tree branch. Then I cut the leaves from a piece of Bella Rose designer paper, and attached them to the tree branch. Then I put the little swinger on to make it look like she is swinging from the tree. I wasn't sure where to put a sentiment, so I just left it off.
I thought it turned out pretty good.
Chow for now,
Jacqui
